The Ten Commandments of the Jewish Faith

1. I am The LORD your God

2. You shall have no other gods to rival me

3. You shall not misuse the name of The LORD your God

4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy

5. Honor your father and your mother

6. You shall not kill

7. You shall not commit adultery

8. You shall not steal

9. You shall not give false evidence against your neighbor

10. You shall not covet

The Ten Precepts of Buddhism

Personal undertakings to refrain from:

1. Harming any living thing

2. Taking what is not given

3. A misuse of senses (unchastity)

4. Wrong speech

5. Intoxicating drugs or drinks

6. Eating after a midday meal

7. Dancing, music, singing and unseemly shows

8. Garlands, perfumes and personal adornments

9. Using high and luxurious seats (and beds)

10. Accepting gold and silver
