My Personal Philosophy

Philosophy is the highest form of human intellectual achievement and expression

  • Be a lover of wisdom and a seeker of knowledge
  • Place the unbiased truth as the highest attainable objective
  • Form a coherent Weltanschauung (world view)

There is always an opportunity cost to every action and occurrence

  • There is no such thing as a free lunch
  • There is a price for progress
  • Do what is necessary and be willing to make sacrifices

Live as though there is no tomorrow, dream as though you can live forever

  • Carpe Diem: Seize the day
  • Memento Mori: Remember you must die
  • Hope for the best but always prepare for the worst

The truth lies in the eyes of the beholder

  • Nothing escapes human criticism
  • There is no universal truth that can be accepted by all men
  • Rationality lies in the eyes of the beholder

Always be mindful of your surroundings

  • See the big picture but remember that the devil is in the details
  • Act according to the circumstances
  • In Rome, do as the Romans do

Well said in a crystal clear style. But it’s not so easy to do as to write!! Having a clearcut philosophy requires open-mindedness, rational and scientific thinking and loads of experience and knowledge..

    Great if it’s your philosophy!

      Dear Mr Someone,

I do agree with you completely! Practicing what you preach is really hard..This is the reason why I took so long to put my philosophy down on paper.

However, it is my humble opinion that things should be stated clearly and in a written form. I think this would foster commitment on my part.

      Thank You!

      Yours Sincerely,

Nice work about your bank job!

Haha that free lunch concept is like… economics… which I am still studying @.@ I know you love it but I hate it!!!

Apart from that I agree with practically all your philosophies! And one should definitely remember all of them as they proceed in life ^^

      Dear Lizi,

Thanks for your support! Don’t like the free lunch thingy ehh? Not surprised. Most people don’t like it either.

Maybe you should list down some of your philosophies! I think I could learn alot from you. ^^

      Yours Sincerely,
      Ee Suen Zheng
