  1. LEGO begin in 1916 when Danish master carpenter Ole  Kirk Kristiansen bought a workshop in the little town Billund.
  2. LEGO means “Play Well” in Danish and coincidentally means “I Put Together” in Latin.
  3. LEGO products are sold in more than 130 countries.
  4. Stack 40 billion LEGO bricks and they will reach the moon.
  5. Did you know that 19 billion LEGO elements are manufactured every year? That is 36,000 elements every minute!
  6. Producing 306 million tires every year, the LEGO Group is the world’s largest tire manufacturer!

Some facts that you may not know about LEGO Minifigures:

  1. The first Minifigure made its appearance in the 1978 LEGO set 600 which featured a policeman and his patrol car.
  2. There are over 2,500 different LEGO Minifigure characters from around the world!
  3. Every second, 3.9 Minifigures are sold, which means over 122 million are sold every year, with over 4 billion in existence.
  4. The LEGO Minifigures represent the biggest population in the world! There are so many of them in the world that they would fill 170 swimming pools.
  5. There are over eight quadrillion possible Minifigures to be made from all the parts that have been produced in the last 30 years.
  6. The most expensive LEGO Minifigure is the 14k gold Star Wars 30th Aniversary C-3PO, which is said to be worth 200 dollars. Only two were made.
