Multitasking, The Cocktail Party Effect: Multifaking or Multifailure???

Some facts you may not know about Multitasking:

  1. People can train to pay extra attention to things that are more important.
  2. Multitasking ability declines with age, sleep deprivation and alcohol consumption.
  3. People who think they are multitasking often are completely unaware of what they have missed.
  4. Our brains are wired to focus on only one thing at a time. This is called selective attention.
  5. Most people who multitask are actually switching their attention between tasks rapidly.
  6. Utah researches have identified a rare group of ‘super-taskers’ that are able to attend to more than one thing with ease. They are an estimated 2.5% of the population.
