Philosophy of the Day ~ Man Is The Measure Of All Things

Man is the measure of all things.

~ Protagoras (c.490-420 BCE)

Example:

  1. It is a sunny day in Malaysia.
  2. For a visitor from Dubai, the weather is cold.
  3. For a visitor from Sweden, the weather is hot.

However, both visitors are telling the truth!

Therefore, the truth we know lies in the eyes of the beholder. It depends on perspective and is relative to the individual.

Man is the measure of all things.
