Philosophy of the Day ~ The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living

The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living

~ Socrates

Train of Thought:

  1. The only life worth living is a good life.
  2. One will only live a good life if one knows what a good life is compared to an evil one.
  3. What is good and evil can only be known through questioning and reasoning.
  4. Therefore, knowledge and morality are bound together.
  5. As a result, the unexamined life is not worth living!

  1. Excellent! Though, I might disagree with or revise premise 2. One need not compare their options to evil options (maybe at first but not once one has already become virtuous).

Again, excellent! Great post to read to start your day.
