1215: King John signs the Magna Carta.

1520 Pope Leo X excommunicates Martin Luther.

Writer’s Addendum

Science is like the really ‘in’ thing these days. You probably look so cool if you know about relativity and quantum mechanics. But science doesn’t replace philosophy. Science gives us knowledge, not wisdom. And more knowledge doesn’t make you wiser (or a better philosopher).

I agree that science has contributed so much to human civilization. Lights, plumbing, transportation, computers, the internet, and etc. However, nothing will ever replace philosophy as the lighthouse that guides our soul in the right direction. 

That I can do something does not mean that I should do it. Read up about science and all its wonders. But do not forget pretty little philosophy hiding behind the corner.
