My Life, My Work, My Immortal Beloved

Today I saw a vision while I was taking a walk at night near the place I work.

I saw my life’s work in its complete fullness. A compilation of humanity’s greatest work.

What I saw moved my heart from admiration to tears, and to elation.

I saw the most beautiful pieces of poetry, and the most wondrous melodies of music.

I saw the essays that shook the very foundations of the human civilization.

I saw the speeches that moved men to achieve things they could never have dreamt of.

I saw the loveliest sculptures and the most magnificent works of architecture.

I saw books, plays and dramas.

I saw temples, churches, mosques and other places of worship.

I saw humanity at its pinnacle of creative achievements.

But most importantly I saw people.

Not just famous intellectuals and artists.

But you and me.

We all belong in this world. We all have a role to play. We all mean something to the people that care for us and the people that we care for.

Our lives matter.

And nothing in the world should ever change that.

We have a reason to be here.

A reason to fall and to rise.

A reason to fight the good fight.

A reason to make this world a better place.

A reason to love.

I give my life to my work. To compile humanity’s greatest achievements.

My work is for you.

Mathematically speaking, I am giving my life to all of you.

And I know that at the end of all of this.

My work will be worth it.

~

For you are all with me.
