DAY 191: JULY 10 – Sleep Well, Rest Well, Dream Well, And All Will Be Well

~ Woman at Her Toilette by Berthe Morisot

Notice how Morisot plays with the effects of light. The reflection of light on the woman’s skin and on her dress differs. Look at this painting from different angles and let the light effect play tricks on your eyes.

Whatever we may say, the happiest moment of the happy man is that of his falling asleep, just as the unhappiest moment of the unhappy man is that of his awakening.

Writer’s Addendum

After a hard day of work, the best company that you can ever find is your cosy bed. It is that moment of peace and calm surrender to the night that gives us the strength to carry on the following day. We welcome sweet dreams and we dread nightmares.

Be at peace, shove you worries into the deepest corner of your mind, and go to sleep.

When you wake up, you will find that the world is still spining tomorrow morning.
